Being in Tune

In Tune with the Spirit

The other night my companion and I ran into an elderly woman.  Upon opening her door to us she recognized immediately as missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  As we were speaking she told us she had a story to tell us.  She said that a few years back her son was in a nursing home and she used to visit him everyday of the week.  One day she went to go see him and he was gone.  She asked where he was and they told him he had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance the night previous.  Frantic with worry she and inquired which hospital.  No one could tell her.  She asked the front desk, the manager, she called the police, the ambulance station–literally no one knew.  She went home concerned and wondering how she might figure out how to find him.  Sitting out in her yard worried and confused on what to do, a pair of missionaries walked up and started talking with her.  She told them her concern and they prayed with her then left.  Shortly they both came back.  She said, “I wondered why in the world they were back.”  One walked up to her, placed a paper in her hand and left.  She watched them leave then looked down at the paper in her hand.  On that little piece of paper was written the address of a hospital–exactly where is son was located.

The experience she shared with us was incredible.  It is my hope and prayer that I can be in tune with the spirit enough to bring about miracles in others lives.  I am thankful for this gospel and all of the incredible blessings I have received.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly is incredible.
